About the position

The Development Research Analyst at Elon University is responsible for researching, analyzing, and compiling information on current and prospective donors. This role supports philanthropic strategies by providing data-driven insights to fundraisers, senior staff, and the University President, while ensuring confidentiality and adherence to ethical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze information on current and prospective donors to inform fundraising strategies.
  • Utilize advanced online databases and in-house data to gather biographical and financial information.
  • Create estimated gift capacity ratings based on analyzed data.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic records.
  • Prepare research profiles and event briefings for fundraising events.
  • Communicate confidential information to fundraisers and senior staff to aid in strategy development.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to gather data for research documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of two years of professional experience, preferably in higher education or at a nonprofit organization.
  • Strong data mining and research skills.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two or more years of professional experience in prospect research, fundraising, or library science.
