There are still lots of open positions. Let's find the one that's right for you.

As a Development Scientist at Croda, Inc., you will play a crucial role in the development of new and existing processes for on-site production. This position is integral to our commitment to delivering innovative, sustainable, and high-performance solutions in the specialty chemicals sector. You will be responsible for lab scale-up, which includes receiving and reviewing new product procedures from the Product Development (PD) Manager and/or Research and Development (R&D) team. Your tasks will involve making necessary lab batches for comparison with R&D samples, collaborating with R&D chemists to address any issues, and recommending modifications for future pilot scale-up. Additionally, you will sample lab batches for Quality Control (QC) testing and compile final lab batch data to assist the PD Manager in decision-making for further scale-up processes. In the supervision of pilot batches, you will assist the PD Manager in monitoring pilot operations, answering queries from QC personnel and pilot operators regarding testing and manufacturing of new pilot products. Your knowledge of product chemistry and lab bench experience will be essential in this role. You will also be responsible for tasks delegated during the PD Manager's absence, including management responsibilities, meeting attendance, and addressing production process questions. Your role will also focus on process improvement, where you will develop new methods for the production of current products aimed at increasing profits, minimizing waste, and enhancing quality and environmental sustainability. In terms of process troubleshooting, you will assist the PD Manager in identifying causes and solutions for production problems, which may require multiple lab batches to investigate. Furthermore, you will support new product introduction and technologies by supervising and making decisions on initial scale-up batches of new products. You will also assist the Quality Control Lab in developing testing methods for new lab equipment. Understanding specific regulatory and legal responsibilities is crucial, as you will need to ensure compliance with site standards such as PS9100, REACH, and IPCC, as well as pharmacopoeia standards and legislation.
