About the position

The Development Special Projects Coordinator or Development Manager at Mentis is a pivotal role within the fundraising and communications team, responsible for planning and executing various fundraising events and campaigns. This position can be filled either as a part-time Special Projects Coordinator or a full-time Development Manager, depending on the candidate's qualifications and availability. The role emphasizes effective project management, donor relations, and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure successful fundraising initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate VIP fundraising dinners and events throughout the year.
  • Monitor planning timelines, manage team tasks, and implement deadlines for events.
  • Oversee guest experience, including ticket sales, registration, and post-event communications.
  • Develop donation solicitation materials and provide logistical support for donation asks.
  • Coordinate venue logistics and manage vendor relationships for events.
  • Actively participate in the Mentis Board events committee and co-facilitate meetings.
  • Support and supervise the Development Specialist in maintaining event-related documentation.
  • Assist in developing engaging communications and marketing materials for events.
  • Manage annual fundraising campaigns and track campaign revenues and expenses.
  • Supervise the Development Specialist and provide mentorship and guidance.
  • Manage the agency's annual grant pipeline and research new grant opportunities.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of work experience in fundraising, administration, or customer service.
  • Exceptional project management skills with a proven track record of initiative.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service and community engagement.
  • High attention to detail and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders and manage complex projects.
  • Solid time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Experience with record-keeping and documentation of projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in event planning and coordination.
  • Familiarity with fundraising campaigns and grant management.
