About the position

The Riverside County Department of Housing & Workforce Solutions is seeking a Bilingual Development Specialist I (Career Coach) to assist clients in their job search and determine eligibility for employment programs. This role involves conducting interviews, evaluating client documents, and providing case management and follow-up services. The position aims to enhance the economic position of the county and its residents through effective career coaching and resource provision.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants for special employment and training programs to determine eligibility based on income, employment status, education, and experience.
• Maintain client contacts to assess progress, provide motivational counseling, and make appropriate resource referrals.
• Provide information regarding available employment and training programs to individuals and community organizations.
• Assist applicants in completing application, referral, or registration forms.
• Inform applicants of other employment and training opportunities and resources in the community.
• Process requests for special grants, support services, and short-term vocational training.
• Provide case management and follow-up services to participants.

Requirements

• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Knowledge of CalJobs and strong communication skills.
• Experience in economic development, housing, community development, or employment and training programs.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in case management or career coaching.
• Familiarity with labor market information and resources.
