About the position

As a Development Strategy and Operations Manager in People Development at Google, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the learning and development landscape of the organization. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about leveraging technology and artificial intelligence to enhance business outcomes in the realm of people development. You will be responsible for defining both short and long-term objectives that align with the overall People Operations strategy, ensuring that our initiatives are not only innovative but also effective in meeting the needs of our diverse workforce. In this role, you will collaborate closely with various teams, including PeopleOps Technology and People Analytics, to develop a comprehensive development strategy. Your expertise in business process analysis and strategy will be crucial as you manage the ongoing intake and prioritization of development requests. You will coordinate with the PeopleOps Tech team to assess the impact of these requests on our technology platforms, ensuring that our systems are equipped to support our learning and development goals. As the primary liaison between People Development and the PeopleOps Tech and People Analytics teams, you will be responsible for defining business requirements, prioritizing initiatives, and reporting on progress. Your ability to influence cross-functional teams and initiatives at scale will be essential in driving results and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization. You will also be expected to present your analyses, proposals, and strategies to organizational leaders, showcasing your excellent problem-solving skills and business acumen.

Responsibilities

  • Define short and long-term learning and development business outcomes that require technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) investment.
  • Develop PeopleDev development strategy with overall People Operations (POps)/People strategy and in collaboration with the PeopleOps Technology and People Analytics teams.
  • Manage ongoing intake and prioritization of development requests including coordination and reporting with the POps Tech team for its impact on our technology platforms.
  • Act as primary liaison between PeopleDev and the POps Tech and People Analytics teams on business requirements definition, prioritization, and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in an investigative, consultative, or strategic role.
  • Experience with business process analysis and strategy in consulting, Human Resources and/or technology environments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams and initiatives at scale with demonstrable results.
  • Experience with implementation of process automation and using enterprise type applications to automate transactional processes.
  • Knowledge of best practices and opportunities for innovation in learning and development.
  • Ability to develop and continuously refine strategy and roadmap for a service delivery organization, including technology support, integration and extended workforce.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with business acumen.
