The State of Connecticut, Department of Developmental Services (DDS), is seeking a Developmental Services Worker 1 to join our dedicated team at the Middletown Family Respite Center. This role is crucial in providing exceptional services to individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities and their families. As a Developmental Services Worker 1, you will assist individuals in their daily activities, ensuring their safety, well-being, and comfort. You will implement individualized service plans and provide support in accordance with established guidelines, engaging individuals in recreational and therapeutic activities to promote socialization and personal growth. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work alongside a team of professionals, including therapists, nurses, and case managers, to develop and implement comprehensive care plans. Accurate and timely documentation of observations, progress, and incidents is essential. You will also administer medication and perform basic medical tasks under the supervision of healthcare professionals, providing emotional support and guidance to individuals and their families. This part-time position requires flexibility, as you will be working 17.5 hours per week during the second shift on Thursdays and Fridays from 2:15 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The State of Connecticut is committed to fostering a healthy work-life balance and offers professional growth and paid development opportunities.
