About the position

The Developmental Test Engineer position at Mount Indie, LLC involves providing subject matter expertise in Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) and radar systems to support the Department of the Air Force's Command, Control and Communications Battle Management (C3BM) programs. The role requires a strong foundation in systems engineering and offers opportunities for on-the-job training and formal courses in unique technology areas. The engineer will work closely with the 46 Test Squadron at Eglin AFB, planning, designing, and executing test events for various programs.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates, supervises, and/or develops requirements from a project's inception to conclusion for complex programs.
  • Provides strategic advice, technical guidance, and expertise to program and project staff.
  • Conducts detailed analysis, evaluation, and recommendations for improvements and optimization efforts.
  • Consults with clients to define needs or problems and supervises studies to collect and analyze data.
  • Interfaces directly with System Program Offices, Joint Battle Labs, and product development contractors.
  • Plans, executes, and reports on C3BM systems/equipment/protocols.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with radar fundamentals and related technologies.
  • Performs technical leadership in engineering roles and participates in test planning.
  • Develops and manages test plans, procedures, and schedules, executing tests within customer requirements.
  • Authors technical documents and conducts briefings and formal presentations.
  • Travels to conduct tests and collect data, up to 30% of the time.
  • Leads a team in directing and executing system testing.
  • Able to lift 50lbs unassisted.

Requirements

  • Strong foundation in systems engineering.
  • Experience with radar fundamentals, sensors, and signal processing.
  • Ability to develop and manage test plans and procedures.
  • Technical leadership experience in engineering roles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
