About the position

The position at Bank of America involves performing complex analysis and modeling to minimize fraud loss exposure and enhance customer experience. The role focuses on evaluating data related to fraud risks, particularly Account Takeover (ATO), and developing strategies to mitigate these risks. The candidate will utilize various analytical tools and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement effective fraud detection and prevention measures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex analysis and modeling to minimize fraud loss exposure.
  • Utilize systems such as Excel, SAS, SQL, and Tableau for analytical support.
  • Evaluate data to assess potential fraud risk and create mitigation strategies.
  • Create, implement, and maintain rules for detecting account takeover and non-monetary fraud.
  • Develop effective monitoring and oversight for cross-functional processes.
  • Derive actionable insights from complex data.
  • Work closely with internal and external partners to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Implement appropriate controls in partnership with functional stakeholders.
  • Investigate and analyze major fraud losses and emerging trends.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of fraud, cyber, or risk analyst experience developing and/or optimizing mitigation strategies.
  • 3+ years of SQL and/or SAS coding ability.
  • Intermediate Excel and PowerPoint capability.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and work autonomously with minimal direction.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • B.A./B.S in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or related field.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field.
  • Fraud or Claims background with focus on Online Banking, Account Takeover, and/or authentication.
  • Understanding of statistical methods for developing performance metrics.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools, preferably Tableau.
  • Functional knowledge of multiple products and/or channels (e.g. Credit, Debit, Digital, Call Center, etc.).
  • Proficiency coding in SAS and/or Python and using Hadoop Impala/Hive.
  • Familiarity with code automation.
