About the position
The Device Installer for School Buses and Other Vehicles role at UniteGPS involves installing GPS tracking devices and related hardware on school buses and other vehicles. This position requires independent contractors to ensure proper device integration and functionality, primarily within Iowa but with opportunities for nationwide travel. The role emphasizes technical expertise, customer service, and the ability to work independently while engaging with a leading school transportation technology company.
Responsibilities
- Install GPS tracking devices on school buses and other vehicles in Iowa and occasionally other states.
- Obtain, research, and interpret vehicle wiring diagrams to ensure proper installation.
- Assist clients with device usage, troubleshooting, and provide on-site or remote support as needed.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience installing vehicle electrical systems (GPS or similar).
- Familiarity with GPS tracking devices or similar hardware installations.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service mindset.
- Ability to plan installations including coordination with clients, booking travel, and providing receipts for travel.
