About the position

CGS is seeking a full-time DevOps Engineer to join the Integrations team at a large Financial Services firm. The role focuses on maintaining and enhancing the reliability and performance of the cloud-based infrastructure that supports the company's digital platform. The position requires a strong background in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, and Automation Engineering, with a particular emphasis on cloud services and automation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Support critical applications and ensure their stability through proactive maintenance activities.
  • Engage in automation activities and conduct root cause analysis and remediation.
  • Write and maintain scripts to monitor system activity.
  • Develop and maintain automation tools for engineering and application support tasks.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, participate in bridge calls, and provide immediate service restoration.
  • Follow up on root cause analysis and ensure permanent fixes are implemented to prevent future issues.
  • Coordinate and execute application releases and production deployments.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, and/or Automation Engineering.
  • Strong experience with AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation tools such as Python, Golang, Bash, and Terraform.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Datadog.
  • Expertise in managing and optimizing APIs and SQL-based databases.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems like Git.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, security practices, and cloud architecture best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and incident resolution.
  • Experience working with agile methodologies and a well-defined Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
