About the position

BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated DevOps Engineer for a remote opportunity with travel needed to Tampa, FL when required. The anticipated start date for this position is as soon as possible, although this date is subject to change. BCforward will provide official notice ahead of a confirmed start date. This is a contract position expected to last for 6 months, with the potential for long-term engagement. The job type is classified as a contract, with an expected workload of approximately 40 hours per week. The pay range for this position is between $70.00 and $85.00 per hour. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all deployed cloud solutions adhere to Deloitte Cyber Security requirements and compliance controls. This will involve leveraging existing templates, documentation, and other reusable sources provided by Deloitte management. You will also be tasked with configuring infrastructure through code, utilizing tools such as ARM for Azure and Cloud Formation for AWS. Additionally, you will configure build and release pipelines for both cloud and on-premise solutions, monitor and support Deloitte cloud and/or on-prem applications using approved industry tools, and respond to service requests from the development organization under the guidance of Deloitte management. The role requires participation in on-call rotations during normal hours within your time zone. You will need a general knowledge of traditional networks, firewalls, and load balancers, as well as strong technical documentation skills for workflows and support documentation. The position also involves defining and maintaining IT performance monitoring and reporting strategies, developing enhanced reporting capabilities through standardization and automation, and collaborating with various teams to build, implement, and tune dashboards, scripts, and alerts. You will consult with application and cloud infrastructure engineers to enhance their self-service monitoring and observability capabilities, and implement application monitoring solutions following best practices across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all deployed cloud solutions follow Deloitte Cyber Security requirements and compliance controls by leveraging existing templates, documentation and other reusable sources provided by Deloitte management.
  • Configure infrastructure through code (ARM for Azure, Cloud Formation for AWS).
  • Configure build and release pipelines for cloud and/or on-premise solutions.
  • Monitor and support Deloitte cloud and/or on-prem applications using approved industry tools and practices defined by Deloitte.
  • Respond to service requests from the development organization under guidance from Deloitte management.
  • Participate in on-call rotations that occur during normal hours within your time zone.
  • Define and maintain IT performance monitoring and reporting strategy.
  • Develop enhanced reporting capabilities through standardization and automation.
  • Monitor the responsiveness and availability of critical websites and web applications from an end-user perspective.
  • Collaborate with Application, Infrastructure, and DevOps teams to build, implement, and tune dashboards, scripts, and alerts.
  • Consult with application and cloud infrastructure engineers to enhance their self-service monitoring and observability capabilities.
  • Implement application monitoring, synthetic, and real user monitoring solutions following best practices across the enterprise.
  • Develop Dynatrace dashboards for business processes, leveraging Dynatrace Business Events.
  • Monitor infrastructure components for CPU, memory, disk space, and I/O.
  • Provide runbooks for other departments and recommend ideas to streamline operations, improve processes, and proactively identify potential issues.

Requirements

  • 5 years of extensive experience in Dynatrace and synthetic URL monitoring, installing agents, forwarders, APIs, and leveraging performance monitoring tools to create alerts, dashboards, and conduct data trend analysis.
  • General knowledge of traditional network, firewalls and load balancers.
  • Strong technical documentation skills; workflows and support documentation.
  • Experience in cloud monitoring within AWS and Azure environments.
  • Familiar with automation, DevOps, CI/CD, and IaC tools and practices including Terraform, Jenkins, Git, Ansible, and API integration.
