About the position

The DevOps Engineer role focuses on the development and maintenance of enterprise applications and consumer products for a banking client. This position requires extensive experience in software engineering, particularly in cloud platforms and infrastructure as code tooling, to drive innovation and ensure the reliability of applications used globally.

Responsibilities

• Drive the development of new and maintenance of existing enterprise applications and consumer products.
• Own all phases of the software development cycle including requirements analysis, design, coding, building, testing, maintenance, and deployment.
• Engage with support teams to troubleshoot and solve production issues affecting applications.
• Build trusted partnerships with product managers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of IT experience in software engineering and DevOps roles.
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code tooling such as CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK, or Kubernetes.
• Experience with security, isolation, and multi-tenant design of distributed cloud services.
• Familiarity with software artifact and container image lifecycle management and governance.
• Experience architecting, designing, or administering in public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Understanding of RESTful API design best practices and experience in developing them.
• Proficiency in designing, developing, and testing software in Java, JavaScript, Python, or Golang.
• Familiarity with cloud network architectures and hybrid cloud networking integration.
• Experience with serverless platforms such as AWS Lambda and Google Cloud Functions.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with multi-tiered web applications and application integration.
• Knowledge of design patterns utilizing SOA and micro-services.
• Familiarity with open-source frameworks and APIs including Log4J, Mockito, or Junit.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases technologies including Sybase or MongoDB.
• Utilization of source control management systems, specifically GitLab.
• Experience with test-driven development and performing testing to build reliable applications.
