About the position

The DevOps Engineer position at BCforward involves designing, configuring, deploying, managing, and automating AWS Core Services. The role requires extensive experience in cloud deployments, particularly with AWS, and involves maintaining CI/CD pipelines, managing data platforms, and ensuring compliance in data science operations. This is a full-time contract position based in Plano, TX, with a target start date of November 11, 2024, and an expected duration of over six months, with the possibility of renewal.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, deploy, manage, and automate AWS Core Services like S3, IAM, EC2, Route53, SNS, SQS, ELB, CloudWatch, Lambda, and VPC.
• Automate cloud deployments using Terraform and Python.
• Administer the deployment, management, and monitoring of applications on AWS via CI/CD.
• Maintain the Jenkins pipeline and perform code promotions through change management.
• Manage AWS data platform services like Redshift, DynamoDB, Databricks, Glue, MLops, and Athena.
• Monitor usage and costs of AWS resources and implement optimizations.
• Provision DynamoDB tables with encryption and manage IAM policies for access.
• Deploy and manage AWS Serverless applications using API Gateway and Lambda.
• Deploy Redshift Clusters into VPC with encryption and configure monitoring.
• Manage Denodo VDBs and address performance issues.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with AWS services including S3, IAM, EC2, Route53, SNS, SQS, ELB, CloudWatch, Lambda, and VPC.
• Proficiency in automation tools such as Terraform and Python.
• Experience with at least two big data technologies: Denodo, Redshift, DynamoDB, Databricks, Glue, and Athena.
• Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, including GitHub Actions and scripting in Python/Shell.
