About the position

As a DevOps Lead at CEDENT, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our cloud infrastructure and container-based applications. This position requires a strong understanding of various technologies, including Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes, and AWS, to ensure high availability and performance of our systems. You will be responsible for articulating complex problems related to technology to both business and technical stakeholders, providing business development support, and assisting in the drafting of RFPs and RFIs. Your role will also involve creating marketing collateral, such as case studies and capability decks, to showcase our unique selling propositions to prospective clients. In addition to business development, you will lead technical discussions during customer governance calls and interface with client teams to address escalations. You will handle specific technologies within projects, contributing to high-level design (HLD), low-level design (LLD), implementation, and test plans. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying opportunities for automation, standardization, and stabilization of environments, as well as preparing and updating run books, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge articles. As a leader, you will enable L1/L2 team members to enhance their skill sets through technology training and mentoring. You will also participate in recruitment efforts and contribute to team building and onboarding initiatives. Your contributions to knowledge management activities, including creating technical artifacts and reference architectures, will be essential in maintaining our competitive edge in the technology landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and articulate complex problems related to specific technology.
  • Provide business development support by assisting in RFP/RFI response drafting, presentations, and collateral creation.
  • Support presales and create marketing collateral such as case studies and capability decks.
  • Capture and present project capabilities to prospective clients, highlighting unique selling propositions.
  • Interface with community networks to retain technology competitiveness.
  • Work with client teams to address escalations and implement change requests.
  • Lead technical discussions in customer governance calls and interact with users/customers/first-level management.
  • Handle specific technologies within projects and contribute to HLD, LLD, implementation, and test plans.
  • Participate in technical audits and identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and stabilization of environments.
  • Prepare/update/review run books, SOPs, and knowledge articles on specific technology areas.
  • Plan, prepare, and execute change processes and standardize change implementation.
  • Contribute to reducing cost of downtime (COD) by driving continuous service improvement (CSI) and automation initiatives.
  • Prepare templates, checklists, and guidelines for due diligence, transitions, and knowledge transfer.
  • Enable L1/L2 team members to enhance their skill sets and deliver technology training.
  • Participate in recruitment and act as a buddy to new hires, supporting team building and onboarding efforts.
  • Contribute to knowledge management activities by creating case studies, technical artifacts, and reference architectures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering in Computers or relevant diploma.
  • Strong knowledge of container-based applications and experience managing Swarm clusters.
  • Good understanding of Docker networking, volumes, and registry.
  • Experience with load balancers like HAProxy and Traefik.
  • Proficient in monitoring tools like Zabbix, InfluxDB, Kapacitor, Telegraf, and Chronograf.
  • Good understanding of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and OpenShift.
  • Experience with GitLab and maintaining pipelines.
