About the position

The DEVSECOPS Governance Architect plays a crucial role at the intersection of development, security, and operations. This position is responsible for ensuring that Waters' code and development infrastructure adhere to standard security processes, reporting, and response mechanisms. The role involves collaborating with development teams and senior management to enhance the organization's security posture through the development and execution of a comprehensive security strategy and roadmap for software development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement standardized Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes across all code development teams, ensuring consistent application of security practices and continued improvement.
  • Create and enforce security policies, standards, and reporting mechanisms to ensure compliance and enhance the security posture of the organization.
  • Establish security controls and reporting systems within code development environments to monitor and mitigate security risks effectively.
  • Build a community of practice focused on secure coding by providing training, resources, and support to development teams, promoting a culture of security awareness and collaboration.

Requirements

  • 10 - 15 years in development security
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security configurations
  • Experience with automation tools and code development platforms
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby
  • Solid understanding of network security and data encryption techniques
  • Familiarity with compliance regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
