About the position

The DHS Division of County Operations (DCO) Program Manager is responsible for overseeing program activities across multiple counties, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, and managing a team of professional and administrative staff. This role involves planning, directing, and evaluating program effectiveness while providing administrative support and guidance to supervisors and personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a subordinate professional and administrative support staff by interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating performance.
  • Manage operations within a multi-county area through county supervisors and program representatives.
  • Determine program goals, objectives, and guidelines, and implement operating policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Conduct meetings to discuss program progress and address issues.
  • Provide administrative support by interpreting regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Review and analyze data, compile reports, and prepare correspondence.
  • Contribute to the development of an operating budget by identifying program needs and monitoring expenditures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, general business administration, or a related field.
  • Four years of experience in human services or a related field, including two years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
  • Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations, and policies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of SNAP, TEA, and Medicaid programs.
  • Experience with ARIES system.
  • Ability to multitask.
