About the position

The Senior Security Engineer (DevSecOps) at Versar Global Solutions will support the Department of Homeland Security's Enterprise Engineering Division. This role involves enhancing cybersecurity measures across DHS networks and managing a suite of security tools and infrastructure. The engineer will collaborate with a diverse team to integrate security processes and technologies into existing systems, ensuring the integrity and security of enterprise-wide cyber systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop cybersecurity technologies and integrate new architectural features into existing infrastructures.
• Support DHS Security Engineering efforts related to DevSecOps, Agile, and various programming languages and tools.
• Integrate security processes, controls, and technologies into technical solutions.
• Recommend improvements to security architectures to enhance automation and implement a DevSecOps philosophy.
• Develop cybersecurity support applications and integrate them into the existing infrastructure.
• Prototype, develop, test, and implement applications for data transfer and automation within SOC operations.
• Utilize APIs for tool and process automation in integrated toolsets.
• Deploy and integrate applications within the cybersecurity infrastructure.

Requirements

• At least six (6) years of professional experience in an IT Services environment with a focus on cybersecurity and DevSecOps.
• Experience in U.S. Federal government consulting related to DevSecOps is preferred.
• Ability to learn and adapt to a complex and dynamic network environment.
• Capability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Past experience within the Department of Homeland Security or other government agency is preferred.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a DHS EoD are required.

Nice-to-haves

• Certification involving cybersecurity is desired.
• DevSecOps related certifications such as CP-DOF, CP DevSecOps, or CDP are preferred.
