About the position

The Diagnostic Electrician at Freeport-McMoRan is responsible for the removal, repair, and installation of electrical components and systems, focusing on advanced troubleshooting and systems/process optimization. The role emphasizes safety and compliance with regulatory standards while providing opportunities for mentoring and training other electrical workers. The position is based in Bagdad, Arizona, where the company offers a collaborative work environment and various amenities.

Responsibilities

• Removal, repair, and installation of electrical components and systems.
• Analysis and diagnosis of electrical issues and advanced troubleshooting.
• Perform preventative maintenance on industrial electrical and instrumentation equipment.
• Ensure safe completion of routine and non-routine repairs and construction.
• Mentor or train other electrical workers as needed.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and participate in safety and environmental activities.

Requirements

• Completion of an approved Certified Electronics, Electrical and/or Instrumentation Program, OR
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Industrial Electrical and/or Instrumentation repair and maintenance, OR
• Associate's degree or Trade School Certification in a related field and two (2) years of experience in Industrial Electrical and/or Instrumentation repair and maintenance.
• Experience in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electrical circuits and connected equipment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• High School diploma or GED
• Experience with VFDs, PLC, HMI, and/or SCADA Control Systems
• Experience working with low and medium voltages
• Experience with AC and/or DC controls
• Experience with instrumentation devices
• Experience with diagnostic electrical test equipment
