About the position

The Diagnostic Imaging Research Analyst at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital plays a crucial role in advancing biomedical imaging research. This position involves assisting departmental personnel in developing and executing state-of-the-art techniques for clinical or preclinical research, focusing on the acquisition and analysis of imaging data. The analyst will work on specific projects, support research initiatives, and contribute to the overall goals of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development, optimization, and maintenance of imaging data transfer, storage, processing, and analysis solutions.
  • Implements assigned projects with minimal supervision.
  • Assists in experimental design and modifies existing programs to meet project needs.
  • Keeps accurate records of experiments and research datasets.
  • Schedules and completes work assignments efficiently and timely.
  • Develops imaging data processing pipelines and analysis tools for research studies.
  • May develop/adapt software tools for imaging data analysis and visualization under direction.
  • Manages large data sets and acquires relevant knowledge in the field of research.
  • Interacts with department personnel and develops awareness of departmental research areas.
  • Reads and evaluates current scientific literature related to ongoing projects.
  • Attends workgroup meetings, seminars, and demonstrations.
  • Pursues scientific accomplishments to demonstrate exceptional merit under direction.
  • Participates in efforts to present and/or publish research results.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
  • Complies with regulatory requirements for conducting research in human subjects and animals.

Requirements

  • Master's degree plus 2 years post-doc experience as Research Tech or equivalent, or Bachelor's degree plus 3 years post-degree experience as Research Tech or equivalent, or a PhD in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or computer science, or MD (no additional experience required).
  • Two years of post-degree related work experience is preferred.
