Dialysis Biomedical Technician

About the position

The Biomedical Technician at USRC is responsible for ensuring the operational condition, maintenance, and repair of water treatment equipment and medical devices in dialysis clinics. This role is crucial for maintaining patient safety and supporting clinic operations through effective equipment management and compliance with safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operational condition, maintenance, and repair of water treatment and medical equipment.
• Assist with purchasing and inventory control, including placing orders and performing inventory counts.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment as per manufacturer recommendations.
• Perform water quality checks and safety tests on pretreatment water equipment.
• Collect samples for microbiology and AAMI analysis testing according to protocol.
• Disinfect dialysis machines and related systems according to established protocols.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and support documentation for equipment.
• Address physical environment issues impacting patient and staff safety.
• Participate in staff meetings and promote customer service standards.
• Instruct staff on the use and care of equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Previous dialysis, hospital, or medical experience preferred.
• Ability to distinguish all primary colors.
• Ability to react and perform under stress and in emergency situations.
• Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a clinical or medical setting.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety measures.
