Dialysis Technician- no experience

About the position

DaVita is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide life-saving care in an outpatient dialysis center. This role is crucial for patients dealing with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease, offering an opportunity to make a significant impact in their lives. Responsibilities

• Provide direct one-on-one patient care during dialysis treatment.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis, including measuring and recording vital statistics.
• Set up hemodialysis machines and ensure patient safety and comfort during treatment.
• Educate patients on kidney dialysis-related topics and build long-term relationships with them.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of clinicians, including nurses, dietitians, and social workers.

Requirements

• Desire to enter the healthcare field and care for others.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfortable working with blood and needles.
• Ability to mix acid or bicarb as required.
• Physical and mental ability to work long hours on your feet.

Nice-to-haves

• Health care experience such as BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.
