Dialysis Technician - Outpatient Dialysis - CHT

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care for patients undergoing dialysis.
• Work with a Registered Nurse to provide basic dialysis care, including starting and stopping treatment.
• Care for patients during treatment and maintain dialysis equipment to ensure patient safety.
• Perform other tasks as delegated by the RN or supervisor, including additional patient care tasks and supply inventory management.
• Participate in quality improvement activities to maintain patient care standards.
• Carry out designated skills limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified nursing assistant training course required OR one year of direct patient care experience in a hospital setting or other health care setting OR RN student with one semester of clinical coursework completed OR completion of a Dialysis Technician training program.
• Successful completion of the Ishihara's color blindness test before employment.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
• Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
• Ability to work flexible hours.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience and CHT certification preferred.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred.
