About the position
The Dialysis Travel Registered Nurse (RN) position is a 13-week travel assignment focused on providing direct patient care in chronic dialysis settings. This role involves performing all technical aspects of dialysis procedures, which includes assessing patient responses to dialysis therapy and making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as directed by supervisors or prescribed by physicians. The Dialysis Travel RN is responsible for thorough assessments of patients before, during, and after dialysis sessions, ensuring accurate documentation of findings. Additionally, the nurse will administer medications as ordered and assess the educational needs of patients and their families regarding end-stage renal disease, dialysis therapy, diet, and medications. This position requires a commitment to high-quality patient care and the ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative approach with healthcare teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for assigned patients in chronic dialysis settings.
- Perform technical aspects of dialysis procedures, including patient assessments pre, interim, and post dialysis.
- Document findings accurately and timely.
- Administer medications as ordered to assigned patients.
- Assess educational needs of patients and educate them and their families about end-stage renal disease, dialysis therapy, diet, and medications.
- Make appropriate adjustments to treatment plans as indicated or directed by supervisors or physicians.
Requirements
- 1+ year of experience as a dialysis nurse.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing school.
- Current TX or compact RN License in good standing.
- CNN preferred.
- BLS certification required.
- Ability to work independently while striving for the best in patient care.
