About the position

The Diesel Fleet Maintenance Supervisor will oversee shop operations within a nationwide transportation company, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality repairs. This role involves mentoring technicians, assigning work orders, and performing in-depth repairs on diesel engines and related systems. The position is crucial for maintaining safe and productive operations in the fleet maintenance environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor technicians in the shop.
• Maintain shop flow and efficiency.
• Assign work to technicians based on workload and expertise.
• Complete all required paperwork in a timely and concise manner.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs and maintenance on all equipment.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair suspension systems.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair brake systems.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical systems.
• Utilize diagnostic tools effectively and interpret service manuals for repairs.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience in automotive diagnostics.
• 2 years of mechanical knowledge in diesel engine repair.
• 5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic.
• 2 years of supervisory or foreman experience.
