About the position
The Diesel Mechanic/Technician A position at Republic Services involves performing repair and maintenance work on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks. The role requires advanced knowledge and skill proficiency in various vehicle components and systems, with a focus on maintaining and repairing intricate machinery. Technicians will work under the supervision of a Lead Technician or Maintenance Manager, tackling new challenges daily and receiving training on new technologies. Responsibilities
- Perform repair and maintenance work on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks.
- Maintain advanced knowledge of vehicle components and systems.
- Conduct chassis component repair and maintenance.
- Repair refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Maintain air and hydraulic braking systems.
- Perform engine repair and maintenance.
- Work on suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems.
- Service heating and air conditioning systems.
- Conduct line maintenance welding and fabrication.
- Identify sources of malfunctions using electronic tools.
- Complete applicable company training programs.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks.
- Ability to perform inspections and repairs on various heavy truck or automotive systems.
- ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
- LNG and/or CNG experience is a plus but not required.
- Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License is a plus but not required.
- Valid Driver's License.
