About the position

As an experienced Technician I at Penske, you will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are safe and reliable for customers. This role involves working independently on major and minor repairs, mentoring others, and utilizing advanced vehicle maintenance technology. Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Repair and troubleshoot major components such as engines, transmissions, and differentials.
  • Keep the work area clean and safe.
  • Use Penske's tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
  • Learn new skills through Penske's technician training.
  • Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • 6 years of practical experience with truck and tractor-trailer maintenance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
  • Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials).
  • Experienced using all tools of the trade (including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, and hand and power tools).
  • Valid driver's license required, CDL preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • ASE Certification and 608/609 certifications preferred.
  • Experience with OEM training courses.
