About the position

The Diesel Mechanic position at Cleantech Environmental involves maintaining and repairing tankers and tractor-trailers within the fleet. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of mechanical systems and adherence to local regulations. The mechanic will work under minimal supervision from the Fleet Manager, ensuring the fleet operates efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Create and record duties performed on daily work orders
• Perform repairs of various truck & tanker components including troubleshooting and diagnostics
• Conduct regular preventative maintenance on service trucks, including inspection, tire repair, tire rotation, and oil changes
• Maintain parts inventory and cleanliness in the shop and work truck
• Collaborate with the Transportation Manager to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs
• Perform regular diagnostic tests on trucks
• Maintain accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles

Requirements

• 5+ years experience as a Diesel Mechanic
• Must possess personal tools to perform tasks
• Experience working on medium/heavy-duty tractor-trailer repairs
• Ability to perform most repairs without supervision
• Considerable knowledge of mechanical tools
• Proficient and certified in performing D.O.T, annual/90 day BIT inspections
• Familiarity with different trailers and tanker equipment
• Knowledge of all mechanical systems concerning diesel-powered engines
• General knowledge of rules and regulations
• Ability to lift 50-60 pounds as required
• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics
• ASE Diesel Certification is an asset
• Preferably hold a Class A License
• Computer skills required
