About the position

As a Diesel Mechanic at SavATree, your primary focus will be to ensure that all equipment and vehicles are operational and ready for use through the proper completion of repairs and maintenance. This role requires effective communication and coordination with Managers to manage major repairs and maintenance tasks. You will also be responsible for interpreting Vehicle Inspection Reports, prioritizing your work based on urgency, and ensuring that all necessary parts and supplies are ordered and received in a timely manner. Additionally, you will handle the completion of paperwork for both the office and vendors, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and up to date. In this position, you will have the opportunity to train field specialists on equipment maintenance and vehicle operations, sharing your knowledge and expertise to enhance the team's overall performance. Maintaining a safe and orderly work environment in both the Shop and the Yard is crucial, as safety is a top priority at SavATree. You will be expected to adhere to all safety protocols and contribute to a culture of safety within the organization. Responsibilities

  • Ensure all equipment and vehicles are operational and ready for use through proper repairs and maintenance.
  • Communicate and coordinate major repairs and maintenance with Managers.
  • Read and interpret Vehicle Inspection Reports to prioritize work.
  • Order and receive parts and supplies necessary for repairs.
  • Complete paperwork for the office and vendors accurately and timely.
  • Train field specialists on equipment maintenance and vehicle operations.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly work environment in the Shop and Yard.

Requirements

  • Experience in small engine repair.
  • Knowledge of two-stroke engine repair.
  • Experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
  • Experience operating and maintaining aerial lifts (bucket) trucks.
  • Experience with spray equipment, tanks, and pumps.
  • Possession of basic tools for engine repair and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instruction manuals and diagnostic charts for troubleshooting mechanical or electrical issues.
  • Valid Driver's license required; CDL preferred.
  • ASE certification is a plus.
  • Must be authorized to lawfully work in the U.S.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with advanced diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations related to equipment maintenance.
