About the position

The Diesel/Semi-Trailer Technician at Dallas Trailer Repair Co. is responsible for performing routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on trucks, trailers, and related equipment. The role requires a solid understanding of mechanical systems, diagnostic tools, and excellent communication skills to ensure high-quality service and customer satisfaction. Technicians will work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic shop environment, adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct diagnostics and repairs on starting & charging systems, cooling, and re-charge, electrical and common fault codes.
  • Inspect, analyze, and diagnose trucks/vehicles and related equipment for mechanical issues, faulty and replacement parts.
  • Perform leak detection and repairs, compressor replacements, soldering refrigerant lines, evaporator/condenser replacements and front & rear main engine seal replacements in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and Federal inspections on trailers, trucks/vehicles, and related equipment.
  • Problem solve and document an action plan for all repairs and follow checklists and protocols while conducting repairs.
  • Ensure a safe, organized, and tidy workspace, including regularly cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment.
  • Follow all health and safety rules and guidelines, as well as common sense safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as support coworkers, able to work as part of a team and work well with co-workers.

Requirements

  • ASE Certification (highly desired but not required)
  • 3 years of mechanic experience (preferred)
  • 1-2 years of Transport Refrigeration Technical or equivalent experience
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Must have own tools plus Safety Glasses, Steel-toed shoes, and Hearing Protection
  • Able to pass a 10-year background check and drug test/medical physical exam.
