About the position

The Diesel Technician at Amerit Fleet Solutions is responsible for the timely repair and maintenance of medium to heavy-duty fleet vehicles, ensuring safe and efficient operations. This role requires a high level of proficiency in diesel engine diagnosis and repair, as well as knowledge of fleet maintenance operations, electrical systems, and DOT inspections.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to medium to heavy-duty vehicles.
• Conduct safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation.
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations and company policies/procedures.
• Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles.
• Prepare vehicle records and reports both manually and on a computer.
• Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicles.
• Interact with clients through both email or phone as necessary.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• ASE Certification
• 5 years of experience in vehicle maintenance
• CDL (Commercial Driver's License) preferred
• Electrical experience
• Trade school diploma in auto or diesel technology
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Fleet Management Systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of hand-held scan tools and the process of diagnosing vehicles.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and DOT inspections.
