About the position

Ryder System is seeking a Permanent Full-Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician to support their Truck Fleet in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This role involves performing maintenance and repair duties on heavy-duty vehicles, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards, and mentoring junior technicians. Responsibilities

• Performs standard vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• Conducts preventive maintenance on vehicles.
• Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Completes detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Works unsupervised on most tasks.
• Performs facility maintenance duties as needed.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints.
• Utilizes Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
• Acts as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational or technical certification preferred.
• ASE Certification and CDL A required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment.
• Basic tools required for the job.
• Demonstrated aptitude in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.

Nice-to-haves

• Post-secondary degree or technical certifications preferred.
• Experience with automotive diagnostics and electrical systems.
