About the position

The Diesel Technician at Trucking Edge is responsible for the assembly, set-up, maintenance, and repair of various types of equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. This role involves adhering to safety regulations and performing both preventative and corrective maintenance on diesel-powered vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform all work adhering to DOT, OSHA, and all company safety and maintenance policies.
• Diagnose cause of most malfunctions and perform repairs per OEM guidelines.
• Conduct preventative maintenance repairs, including tire replacement and vehicle component lubrication.
• Complete minor electrical system repairs and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles.
• Understand and follow safety procedures.
• Perform projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or its equivalent preferred.
• 3 years of related experience required.
• Ability to weld, fabricate, and repair a variety of metal work.
• Knowledge of tools and methods of the welding trade.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints and technical manuals.
• Ability to perform minor repair and maintenance on a variety of diesel-powered equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions; function effectively as part of a team; ability to work under pressure; communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and the public.
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, take initiative, and problem solve while maintaining attention to detail.
