About the position
The Diesel Technician position at Truck Country involves performing preventative maintenance and diagnostics on medium and heavy-duty trucks. The role focuses on developing maintenance skills, completing inspections and recalls, and executing truck and engine repairs. Technicians will work both independently and as part of a team, utilizing company-supplied tools and diagnostic equipment to ensure high-quality service and repairs.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on medium/heavy duty trucks.
- Develop and improve maintenance skills through training opportunities.
- Complete inspections and recalls as required.
- Perform diagnostics and complete truck/engine repairs.
- Successfully relay findings of diagnostics or repairs and translate them into digital notes.
- Locate information on trucks using company-supplied laptop and diagnostic equipment.
Requirements
- Medium/heavy duty truck technician experience.
- Prefer a Class B CDL.
- Basic computer skills.
- Experience with power and hand tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to relay findings and translate them into digital notes.
- Desire to maintain an organized work environment.
Nice-to-haves
- 1-2 years' experience as a Diesel Technician working on CLASS 8 vehicles (Cummins and Detroit).
- CDL preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
- Previous engine overhaul experience.
