About the position

The Diet Aide is responsible for preparing and serving resident trays in a dining services environment. This role involves ensuring that meals are delivered according to residents' menu selections, maintaining cleanliness in dining areas, and assisting with sanitation practices. The Diet Aide plays a crucial role in providing quality service to residents while adhering to health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve resident trays according to menu selections.
• Transport residents' trays to the dining room.
• Clean and set up the dining room for the next meal, including sweeping floors and sanitizing tables and chairs.
• Communicate with residents to take food orders and assist with meal setup.
• Provide table service during meals, including serving trays and beverages.
• Ensure proper sanitation practices are followed, including the use of gloves and hairnets.
• Take orders and prepare snacks for residents.
• Follow established procedures to ensure diets and menus are accurately followed.
• Inventory and restock nourishment centers.
• Maintain a neat and clean uniform.

Requirements

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills required.
• Support the mission and purpose of Shenandoah Valley Westminster Canterbury.
• Present a professional and caring image.
• Complete employment and annual Tuberculosis testing as required by Virginia State Licensure.
• Attend mandatory inservices required by the State Licensure and other regulatory agencies.

Benefits

• Competitive hourly wage ranging from $13.50 to $17.00 per hour.
