About the position

The Dietary Aide at New Braunfels Regional Rehabilitation Hospital plays a crucial role in providing quality food service to patients, visitors, and staff. This position is essential for maintaining dietary standards and ensuring a safe and sanitary food handling environment. The Dietary Aide will work closely with the healthcare team to support the nutritional needs of patients recovering from various medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the service of meals for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Unpacks and visually inspects food stock.
• Prepares, pours, and portions food as needed.
• Carries heavy trays, pots, and other food items.
• Delivers meals to patients in a timely manner.
• Maintains a sanitary work environment and adheres to food handling standards.
• Cleans work station area and equipment after use.
• Washes dishes, pots, silverware, and other kitchen items.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent education or experience required.
• Valid Food Handlers license required.
• Patient-related service experience preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Knowledge of patient diets and safe food handling requirements.
• Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.
• Effective organizational and time management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work professionally with others.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in time management.
• Knowledge of Nutritional Care Manual.
