About the position
The Dietary Aide position at Virginia Health Services involves supporting the dietary needs of residents at Walter Reed Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The role focuses on meal preparation, distribution, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards while promoting positive customer service.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the use of the menu tray card system.
- Assisting with preparing and distributing resident meals and snacks in accordance with the menu, diet orders, and facility meal schedule.
- Washing dishes and cleaning work area, tables, cabinets, carts, and ovens in accordance with infection control standards.
- Ensuring proper storage and handling for all food, including knowledge of proper holding temperatures and temperature documentation.
- Effectively operating all kitchen appliances.
- Following facility cleaning schedule as assigned.
- Maintaining proper cleaning and sanitation of kitchen equipment and area.
- Complying with all established policies and procedures.
- Promoting and demonstrating positive customer service towards VHS, co-workers, residents, family members, and visitors.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
