About the position

Children's Hospital of Michigan is an international leader in pediatric and adolescent medicine, providing a wide range of surgical services including general, thoracic, reconstructive, and cardiovascular procedures. The hospital is equipped with advanced imaging technology specifically designed for children, offering diagnostic services such as Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and MRI. The Emergency Department is recognized as a verified Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and includes a dedicated pediatric burn center. Each year, thousands of children receive expert care in pediatric critical care, rehabilitation, and neonatal and perinatal medicine across various facilities including Children's Hospital of Michigan, Children's Hospital of Michigan - Troy, and six ambulatory sites. As a Dietary Aide, you will work under general supervision and adhere to established policies and procedures to perform essential duties related to the preparation, service, and transport of meals for patients, staff, and guests. Your responsibilities will include taking inventory and maintaining records, stocking food and supplies, food preparation, setup and service, and the transport of food and supplies. You will also be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all equipment and work areas between uses, as well as maintaining accurate cash operations. Additionally, you may prepare, deliver, and review daily patient menus to ensure that selections align with prescribed diets, and transport food and supplies within or between hospitals. This role is crucial in ensuring that all dietary needs are met in a timely and efficient manner, contributing to the overall care and satisfaction of patients and their families.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Entry-level position with additional experience or training required depending on discipline.
