Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation of food and serves meals, snacks, and beverages using portion control and sanitation practices.
• Delivers meals to resident rooms or tables and sets up meal trays according to dietary orders and tray cards.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, dietary equipment, and dining room.
• Cleans utensils, dishes, and pots and pans, ensuring proper operation of the dishwasher and recording its temperature.
• Ensures proper storage, rotation, preparation, and labeling of food according to guidelines and policies.
• Partners with dietary staff to monitor equipment temperatures and report any faults immediately.
• Follows fire safety, infection control, and hazardous chemical practices, reporting unsafe conditions promptly.
• Greets residents, visitors, and staff courteously, respecting dignity and confidentiality.
• Resets the dining room for the next meal and ensures supplies are available.
• Assists in storing incoming food and supplies as assigned.
• Attends training, in-services, and staff meetings as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must have Food Handler Permit as required by the State.
• High school diploma or GED preferred, but some high school education is acceptable.
