About the position

The Dietary Aide Student position at Peter Becker Community involves performing various duties to support resident food service and maintain dining room cleanliness. The role emphasizes courteous interaction with residents, adherence to hygiene standards, and compliance with food handling regulations.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and cleans dining room, trays and tray lines, and kitchen facilities.
• Prepares food and beverages for appropriate meal service.
• Greets residents in a courteous, professional manner and helps with seating as needed.
• Apportions and serves food and beverages and attends to residents' needs.
• Delivers carts of food trays to nursing floors and retrieves carts after food service.
• Fills, cleans, and replenishes food and beverage containers, ensuring adequate supply of utensils and paper supplies.
• Prepares food, utensils, and dinnerware for service, clears from tables and trays, and cleans after use.
• Washes dishes, utensils, and food containers; stores sanitized items and may operate a dishwasher.
• Performs final cleaning and security of kitchen and dining facilities.
• Prepares counts for the next day.
• May operate kitchen equipment such as a blender or steam table.
• Lifts trays of food and utensils.
• Adheres to strict organization policy and government regulations for sanitation, food handling, and resident safety.
• Maintains basic knowledge of food handling, therapeutic diets, and portion control.
• Adheres to the Peter Becker Community Code of Conduct and all Corporate Compliance and HIPAA Policies and Procedures.
• Attends all mandatory in-services.
• Attendance is an essential function for this position.
• Adheres to facility and department dress code.
• Performs additional duties as required.

Requirements

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic math knowledge and simple concept skills.
