About the position

The Dietary Aide at Temecula Healthcare Center plays a crucial role in supporting the dietary department by assisting in various food functions as directed and in accordance with established food policies and procedures. This position is part-time and offers flexible hours, with a competitive wage of $18 per hour, depending on experience. The Dietary Aide will work closely with the facility's Dietitian and Director of Food Services to implement necessary changes and ensure that all food procedures are adhered to. The role requires developing and maintaining a good working rapport with inter-department personnel and other departments within the facility to ensure that food service meets the needs of the residents. Key responsibilities include assisting in serving meals in a timely manner, performing daily or scheduled cleaning duties, setting up meal trays and food carts, assisting the cook in meal preparation, distributing and collecting menus, obtaining food supplies for the next meal, and checking diet trays before distribution. The Dietary Aide will also be responsible for delivering food carts and trays to designated areas, ensuring that all tasks are completed in accordance with established policies and procedures. This position is essential in maintaining the quality of food service and ensuring that residents receive their meals in a timely and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Dietary aide experience preferred, especially in a healthcare facility.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies/personnel.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Maintain the care and use of supplies and equipment, and perform regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation and safety.
