About the position

The Dietary Aide at Temecula Healthcare Center plays a crucial role in assisting with food functions in accordance with established policies and procedures. This position involves working closely with the facility's Dietitian and Director of Food Services to ensure that all food service needs of the residents are met efficiently and effectively. The Dietary Aide is responsible for meal preparation, serving, and maintaining cleanliness in food service areas, contributing to the overall well-being of the residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist in serving meals in a timely manner.
• Work with the Dietitian and Director of Food Services to implement recommended changes.
• Ensure compliance with established food policies and procedures.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with inter-department personnel.
• Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties as per established policies.
• Set up meal trays, food carts, and dining areas as instructed.
• Assist the cook in meal preparation.
• Distribute and collect menus as necessary.
• Obtain food supplies for the next meal.
• Check diet trays before distribution and deliver food carts and trays to designated areas.

Requirements

• Dietary aide experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, and the public.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Maintain care and use of supplies and equipment.
