The Dietary Aide plays a crucial role in the preparation and serving of meals and snacks within a skilled nursing and rehabilitation community. This position involves daily interactions with residents, ensuring that dining areas are clean and safe, and that food is handled according to sanitary regulations. The Dietary Aide is essential in maintaining a familial environment and supporting the overall well-being of residents through proper nutrition and care.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of meals and snacks.
• Clean and maintain dining areas.
• Receive, rotate, and store food supplies.
• Wash dishes, pans, and utensils.
• Comply with infection control, safety, and sanitation protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of food storage and work areas.
• Report any safety or sanitation violations to the supervisor.

Requirements

• Ability to walk, bend, lift, push, pull, turn, stoop, and stretch.
• Ability to unload and stock groceries on shelves of various heights.
• Ability to lift large items up to 50lbs.
• Ability to write and record data, and read and follow instructions in English.
• Ability to remain calm and work efficiently in emergencies.
• Ability to communicate professionally with residents, staff, and family members.
