About the position
The Dietary Aide at Kaiser Permanente is responsible for preparing, assembling, and serving food to patients, cafeteria patrons, and catered events. This role includes performing dishwashing and sanitation duties, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and promoting excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and assembles food for patients, cafeteria, and catering services.
- Rethermalizes precooked foods for service.
- Sets up and replenishes food items in the cafeteria and catering lines.
- Labels and refrigerates leftovers appropriately.
- Delivers food trays and nourishments to distribution centers.
- Serves food to patients and cafeteria patrons.
- Cleans and sanitizes serving and dining areas, as well as kitchen equipment.
- Receives and stores delivered food and supplies, verifying orders received.
- Maintains courteous and cooperative relations with staff and the public.
Requirements
- Six months of food service experience required.
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to push and pull carts weighing 100 lbs.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain positive working relationships.
Nice-to-haves
- One year of experience in a food establishment preferred.
- Knowledge of hospital food service operations.
