About the position

The Dietary Aide at Timberline plays a crucial role in supporting the food service operations within the facility. This part-time position involves various tasks related to meal preparation, serving, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen environment. The aide works under the supervision of the Cook and Dietary Supervisor, ensuring that all dietary needs are met efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Learn food service routine quickly.
  • Set up meal trays for service.
  • Strip down returned trays and wash dishes.
  • Assist with serving different meals.
  • Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at the beginning of the shift.
  • Observe water temperatures of the dishwasher during dishwashing cycles.
  • Operate the dishwasher effectively.
  • Prepare nourishments and snacks as needed.
  • Sweep and mop the kitchen area.
  • Carry out trash and garbage disposal.
  • Put groceries away in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary after shifts.
  • Clean work surfaces and refrigerators regularly.
  • Maintain floors by sweeping and mopping.
  • Participate in the orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
  • Work cooperatively with personnel in all departments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read technical procedures and follow recipes.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions.
