About the position
The Dietary Aide plays a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff and ensuring that residents receive their meals in a timely and organized manner. This position involves meal preparation assistance, delivery, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas and kitchen equipment.
Responsibilities
- Take down dining areas and collect plates, glasses, etc.
- Assist Cook in preparing meals
- Deliver meals to resident rooms or tables and set up meal trays according to dietary orders and tray cards
- Clean utensils, dishes, and pots and pans by operating the dishwasher or using proper handwashing processes
- Partner with dietary staff to ensure equipment is working properly and at the appropriate temperature
- Stock ingredients and monitor inventory
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed
Requirements
- Ability to follow dietary orders and tray cards
- Experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience as a dietary aide or in a similar role
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and nutrition
