About the position
The Dietary Cook at Vancrest of Delphos plays a crucial role in providing high-quality dining experiences for residents while ensuring their nutritional needs are met. This part-time position involves preparing meals, coordinating with dietary staff, and maintaining kitchen operations to support the overall dining service.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing menus prior to preparation of food.
- Inspecting special diet trays to assure they are correct.
- Performing administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submitting to the Director of Food Services.
- Coordinating dietary service with other departments as necessary.
- Working with the facility's Dietician, Dietetic Technician and other Supervisors as necessary and implementing recommended changes as required.
- Assuring that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
- Assisting in establishing food service production line, etc., to assure that meals are prepared on time.
- Processing diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services and approved by the Director of Food Service.
- Performing dishwashing/cleaning procedures. Assuring that utensils, etc., are readily available for next meal.
- Assisting in inventorying and storing in-coming food, supplies, and other duties as requested.
Requirements
- Experience in food preparation and cooking in a dietary setting.
- Knowledge of dietary procedures and nutrition.
- Ability to work collaboratively with dietary staff and other departments.
Nice-to-haves
- Certification in food safety and sanitation.
- Experience with special dietary needs.
