About the position

The Dietary Manager at Orchard Place plays a crucial role in ensuring that clients and staff receive nutritious meals while adhering to safety and compliance standards. This temporary position offers the potential for full-time employment and is focused on creating a positive dining experience for children in care.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of meal preparation and compliance with USDA food guidelines.
  • Plan and develop bi-annual menus in collaboration with a consulting dietitian.
  • Lead and train the dietary team, ensuring exceptional service and safety standards.
  • Manage food procurement, budgeting, and vendor relationships.
  • Maintain a safe and compliant kitchen environment, coordinating with the maintenance team as needed.
  • Support the development and updating of dietary policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience in food service management or USDA/Federal School Lunch programming.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a ServSafe Managerial Certificate within 60 days of employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree in Culinary Arts with three years of experience.
  • Certification as a Certified Dietary Manager is a plus!
  • Skills in leadership, organization, communication, and budget management.
