About the position

The Dietary Manager will oversee food service operations, ensuring that residents receive nutritious and delicious meals tailored to their individual dietary needs. This role emphasizes professional growth, meaningful work, and collaboration within a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee food service operations to ensure quality and compliance with dietary standards.
• Plan menus that meet the nutritional needs of residents, including specialized diets.
• Manage food procurement and inventory to ensure availability of necessary supplies.
• Supervise food service staff, providing training and support as needed.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing food service operations.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and infection control.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nutrition or a related field.
• Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification or willingness to obtain within six months of hire.
• Current ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification or willingness to obtain.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a dietary management role, preferably in a long-term care or healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with specialized diets such as diabetic, low-sodium, and texture-modified diets.
• Proven track record of managing a food service operation, including menu planning and staff supervision.
• Thorough understanding of regulations governing food service in long-term care facilities.
• Knowledge of nutrition principles and dietary guidelines for the elderly population.
