About the position
The Dietary Manager at Pine Knoll Rehabilitation Centre plays a crucial role in supervising and directing the dietary department, ensuring the delivery of exceptional care to residents. This position involves planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and maintaining dietary programs and activities, while coordinating with nursing services and other departments to meet the dietary needs of residents.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the dietary department.
- Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and maintaining dietary programs and activities.
- Coordinate dietary services with nursing services and other related departments.
- Develop, review, and plan normal, special, and therapeutic diet plans for residents.
- Ensure meals are prepared and served according to menu diets and resident preferences.
- Forecast departmental needs and assist in preparing the dietary department's budget for food, equipment, supplies, and labor.
- Develop preliminary and comprehensive assessments of dietary needs for each resident and create written dietary care plans.
Requirements
- Must be a Registered Dietitian or Certified Dietary Manager meeting standards established by the American Dietetic Association.
- Previous supervisory experience is desirable.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, personnel, and support agencies.
- Ability to remain calm under stress.
- Good emotional health and capability for extended periods of standing, bending, and heavy lifting.
