About The Position

The Dietary Server is responsible for providing food service to the tenants of Cardigan Ridge Senior Living in a positive and friendly manner. This role involves various tasks related to food preparation, serving, and maintaining a clean dining environment, ensuring high-quality food standards and effective communication with tenants and staff.

Requirements

• High school education.
• Previous work experience with food service, production, and cooking.

Nice To Haves

• Related training or experience preferred.
• Experience working with senior adults; knowledgeable and sensitive to the needs and concerns of the senior population.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with tenants, families, staff, and other customers.
• Read, write, and comprehend simple instructions.
• Complete simple food preparation tasks.
• Assemble, dish, and plate food according to the scheduled menu and manage portion control when serving food.
• Maintain high quality food standards.
• Practice strict personal hygiene and utilize gloves when handling cold and ready-to-eat foods.
• Monitor time and temperature of foods to ensure safety.
• Avoid cross-contamination and store and label foods properly.
• Wash and sanitize tables and set tables with place settings and condiments.
• Prepare beverages and serve per tenant request.
• Transport food and supplies to other areas of the building.
• Meet time schedule of meal service and follow service etiquette.
• Be sensitive to and meet the needs of the tenants, following through with their requests.
• Clear tables between courses and at the end of the meal service.
• Operate dishwasher according to directions and manage dishware and kitchenware cleaning tasks.
• Use checklists to complete daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
